The two powerhouse performers will be seen sharing screen space in director Ritesh Batra’s debut film produced by Anurag Kashyap
Irrfan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have been the revelations of the year. While Irrfan won hearts as the sprinter-turned-dacoit in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Paan Singh Tomar, Nawazuddin cast a spell – first as the foul-mouthed Khan in Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani and then as Faizal Khan in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs Of Wasseypur. Of course, both were first seen together in PST, but Nawaz had a comparatively small role to play in that one. That’s why we were excited when we heard that the two powerhouse performers will be seen together in Kashyap’s next home production.
Known for his award-winning short films, director Ritesh Batra is making his debut feature film called Lunch Box, produced by Kashyap and starring Irrfan and Nawaz. We heard that Anurag liked the script and agreed to produce it right away. The film’s script has already received acclaim at Goa Annual Film Bazaar screenwriters’ lab when it was selected for Cinemart at the International Film Festival, Rotterdam 2012. Nawaz has already begun shooting for his portions and Irrfan will be joining him soon. Watch this space for more about this seemingly interesting venture.
