Inspired by Salman Khan, the Kapoor boy joins a list of star kids who had to lose oodles of weight to enter the movies
Salman Khan has inspired loads of youngsters to change their life around. After pushing a visibly overweight Sonakshi Sinha to lose weight and make her debut as a lead actor opposite him in the superhit Dabangg, Sallu is also responsible for inspiring Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor to lose tons of weight and achieve the dishy looks we have already seen in the promos of this debut film Ishaqzaade.
If you think that entering the movies as a leading man was a cakewalk for Boney Kapoor’s son, think again! Nobody actually thought that an obese Arjun could become an actor. The star son’s only career option sometime ago was direction and production. Arjun had worked as assistant to Nikhil Advani on Kal Ho Naa Ho and had decided to pursue a career behind the camera. But things changed once he began assisting on two of Salman Khan projects – Salaam-E-Ishq and Wanted.
Salman Khan was the only one who saw an actor in Arjun, who weighed 140kg at that time. Sallu told the young man that he should not waste his time learning direction and begin working on becoming an actor instead. An overweight Arjun had no confidence about effecting a turnaround, so Sallu decided to take matters in his own hands. He guided the Kapoor boy and helped him lose the extra kilos. If not for Salman, Arjun would never have been able to achieve the lean and fit look that you see in his debut film.
So if you thought that Sallu’s generosity only extended to young girls like Sonakshi Sinha, Katrina Kaif and Zareen Khan, you are wrong! Remember how Salman had also helped Hrithik Roshan achieve the sculpted look for his first film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai? And also guided Ranbir Kapoor? Looks like here’s another young actor, who owes his entry into the film industry to apna Sallubhai!
