After the critical acclaim and good box office collections of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Farhan Akhtar seems to have become an actor with a bankable reputation
It looks like after the stupendous success of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Farhan Akhtar has become an actor to watch out for. This is his fourth film as an actor, but it was his powerful performance (thanks to the well characterised role and some fine acting skills) that has made all the difference. It is rumoured that the Dil Chahta Hai director has been approached by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra to play the title role of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag – a biopic based on India’s best athlete Milkha Singh. And in all possibility Farhan might essay the role of The Flying Sikh onscreen. This is not the first time the uber cool filmmaker-actor has got rave reviews for his acting. Remember his first film Rock On!! and sister Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance? But now it seems Farhan is open to acting in films outside his production house. He recently took 20 days off from the editing of his directorial project Don 2 to read scripts, and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is one of them. We are not surprised that Mehra has approached the filmmaker-cum-actor. For a long time, the Delhi-6 director had been following up with Akshay Kumar and some other stars to play Milkha Singh. Apparently their nonchalance and noncommittal ways drove Mehra away. So who better than Farhan to understand the pains that come with the director’s hat? All we can say is, Akshay’s loss is Farhan’s gain!
