First it was Sallu’s health issues and court hearings that postponed the shoot and since last month UK visa woes have brought the Glasgow schedule of Sajid Nadiadwala’s debut project to an abrupt halt
Sajid Nadiadwala is helpless. His much-anticipated film Kick starring his best buddy Salman Khan has been in trouble ever since its inception, for no fault of his own. And surprisingly, the only person to be blamed is his jigri dost Sallu! First it was the superstar’s health that delayed work on the film and later Salman’s impending 2002 hit-and-run case played spoilsport, with the court setting tareekh pe tareekh for the hearing. And just when Nadiadwala’s star was supposed to fly to the UK to start shooting for Kick, his visa was rejected by the UK government.
Sajid flew to Glasgow in the last week of July to shoot the first schedule of his film with Randeep Hooda, but after waiting for almost a month for Salman to sort out his visa issues, the Housefull 2 producer was left with no option but to return to Mumbai and see what he could do to fix the situation. Our buddy the eavesdropping birdie tells us that the second schedule will soon start in India. Meanwhile, the plan is that after the Being Human actor’s UK work permit arrives – hopefully soon – the two friends will fly to the UK.
And the film is scheduled for an Eid release next year – Salman’s favourite festival. We know that the star and his bhaiyaa Sohail were keen to release Mental during Eid this year, but that didn’t happen and Chennai Express reaped the benefits. Reports say that the most eligible bachelor in Bollywood has already blocked next year Eid as the release date for Kick. That’s really ambitious Sallu, but considering all your professional turmoil – impending 2002 blackbuck poaching case and other commitments – we wonder if the Kick schedule will ever gain enough momentum to finish the film, leave alone allow it to release during Eid!
We hope life sorts itself out soon so that Khan and Nadiadwala can kickstart the shooting schedule and wrap it up in time for and Eid release next year. Salman fans have been waiting a while for a new movie from their fave star. Right, BollywoodLifers?
