After Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar the Dabangg girl signs a film with Ajay Devgn. Is it a wise decision to only work with 40-plus actors?
She made her Bollywood entry with Salman Khan. Earlier this year, she shot with another biggie Akshay Kumar for Shirish Kunder’s Joker. And she has two more films—Sajid Nadiadwala’s Kick with Salman and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Rowdy Rathore with Akshay again. Latest news is that Shatrughan Sinha’s daughter has bagged a film to be made by Ashwini Dheer (the director of Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge?), and this time her co-star will be Ajay Devgn. It does seem like the Dabangg girl is taking it slow and is moving ahead with a definite plan. Note that all the films she has signed are opposite 40-plus actors. Guess this 20-something newbie is playing it safe by ensuring that all her films are with older stars who can guarantee big results at the BO. Apparently, she has been receiving a lot of film offers with younger co-stars, but she has been extremely picky and scrupulous. Well, Sonakshi might think that doing glam roles in plum projects is a good idea but that could slowly ruin her chances of working with actors her age. Her contemporaries on the other hand have been able to strike a better balance. For every film Deepika Padukone has done with Saif Ali Khan or Akshay Kumar, she has also done a Bachna Ae Haseeno with Ranbir Kapoor and a Lafangey Parindey with Neil Nitin Mukesh. Likewise Sonam Kapoor has done a film each with Imran Khan and Shahid Kapoor. After doing Patiala House with Akshay Kumar, Anushka Sharma has gone back to her third hero, Ranveer Singh, for Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl. If Sonakshi continues singing and dancing with 40-plus actors, we wonder what will happen to her dream to romance the current tinsel town hottie Ranveer Singh!
