Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon: Is Star Plus trying to defame Barun Sobti?
The serial on Star Plus is nearing its unexpected end and explanations are being offered in the most bizarre way. So what’s up here? We dig in to find out…
Almost a fortnight ago, we woke up to the news of Barun Sobti, the lead actor of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, quitting the show to explore greener pastures of B-town. And while there was a persistent buzz about Viraf Phiroz Patel, a new hottie to be roped in to replace Sobti, it seems the makers now reveal a totally different story.
Whoever glued in to Star Plus between 9-9.30 pm yesterday would have been privy to the message displayed on the channel that was somewhere on the lines of – ‘Barun Sobti has decided to quit the show to pursue a career in films. And our repeated attempts to change his decisions have gone in vain. So the show will be abruptly ending on November 30.’
But hey, it isn’t the first time that a lead actor is quitting a show on television for a future in films. Remember Sushant Singh Rajput aka Maanav quit Pavitra Rishta to play a role in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che? But that never resulted in the show shutting shop, did it? So why is the case so different with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?
It may be because the makers earned a lot of flak from the fans after news of Sobti leaving the show broke out. And that must’ve given rise to the notion that Patel, how much ever handsome he might be, would never be able to fill in the void that Barun will leave.
But is it fair to put the entire blame on Barun Sobti in full public view by displaying the message? Die-hard Sobti fans who are loudly protesting on social networking sites are of the opinion that Star Plus is trying to defame Barun.

BARUN SOBTI IS RUBBISH AND WOULD LOVE IT IF HE FILMS AND SHOWS END AND FLOP. WE HATE BARUN SOBTI. YEAH IF WE HAD A CHOICE BETWEEN IPKKND SHOW WITH MOHIT SEHGAL OR IPKKND WITH BARUN THEN WITH MOHIT SEHGAL WOULD BE OUR CHOICE. IF WE WERE TO CHOICE BETWEEN IPKKND SHOW OR BARUN SOBTI TO LIVE, WE WOULD CHOICE IPKKND SHOW AND BARUN SOBTI TO DIE.

I hate Barun Sobti too and his fans ruined IPKKND show. Now Chhan Chhan show is on but still would love it if IPKKND show would on and Mohit Sehgal would be a better reliable and trustworthy man to play ASR for us fans of IPKKND show. WE UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU SAID OMG BUT OUR GROUPS ARE GONE CRAZY BECAUSE ALOT OF RELATIVE LOST JOBS, WHEN IPKKND SHOW ENDED AND STILL CAN’T FIND WORK, IN INDIA IT’S VERY DIFFICULT AND ALSO OTHER FANS LOVE THE SHOW SO MUCH, AND SOME LOVE THE OTHER ACTORS IN THE SHOW AND SO ON. omg there is way too much hate. Give it rest ppl. He is an actor he moved on and he isn’t the first one. honestly speaking any drama that runs on for a long time the lead actors tend to move on and leave cause there isnt any scope and if actor get replaced story changes and show always end there is certain cases tht doesnt happen. true fans couldnt see a messed up story.he didnt stop anyone from replacing him he Moved on and let him be. I know lots of ppol lost their job and they probably moved on like sanaya and despite being lead she doesnt mind. and ppl who lost their jobs have moved to new workplaces and also it isnt his fault. i m not a big fan of him i am a fan of the show and shows concept. The show was new and gave us alot we shudnt be sad and hateful but happy it was there n it was beautiful. (no hate just stating an opinion)!!

We understand what you are saying but, no hate, just state our opinion. We missed IPKKND show and all Baruns fans did was end our show and we love the show because of Khushi and not Barun Sobti, so why end the show if Barun Sobti wanted to quit. We was happy for the IPKKND show to continue without Barun Sobti, why couldn’t they except that!. THIS IS WHY WE HATE BARUN SOBTI BECAUSE HE COULD HAVE STOP HIS FANS ENDED OUR IPKKND SHOW BECAUSE HIS FANS WOULD HAVE LISTEN TO HIM. EVEN NOW WE WANT OUR IPKKND SHOW BACK WITHOUT BARUN SOBTI AND WANT MOHIT SEHGAL TO BE ASR AND STILL THESE BARUN FANS WON’T EXCEPT THIS, WHY????

We hated Barun Sobti for what he did and we hope he gets jobless like he made many people. We want his films to flop and get no more films offer to him and no show offer to him neither. Let him become a nobody when he first started IPKKND show. Sanaya is doing brilliantly without Barun Sobti and we just hope Mohit Sehgal and Sanaya Irani becomes a jodi again, we would love it
