Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon: Is Star Plus trying to defame Barun Sobti?
The serial on Star Plus is nearing its unexpected end and explanations are being offered in the most bizarre way. So what’s up here? We dig in to find out…
Almost a fortnight ago, we woke up to the news of Barun Sobti, the lead actor of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon, quitting the show to explore greener pastures of B-town. And while there was a persistent buzz about Viraf Phiroz Patel, a new hottie to be roped in to replace Sobti, it seems the makers now reveal a totally different story.
Whoever glued in to Star Plus between 9-9.30 pm yesterday would have been privy to the message displayed on the channel that was somewhere on the lines of – ‘Barun Sobti has decided to quit the show to pursue a career in films. And our repeated attempts to change his decisions have gone in vain. So the show will be abruptly ending on November 30.’
But hey, it isn’t the first time that a lead actor is quitting a show on television for a future in films. Remember Sushant Singh Rajput aka Maanav quit Pavitra Rishta to play a role in Abhishek Kapoor’s Kai Po Che? But that never resulted in the show shutting shop, did it? So why is the case so different with Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?
It may be because the makers earned a lot of flak from the fans after news of Sobti leaving the show broke out. And that must’ve given rise to the notion that Patel, how much ever handsome he might be, would never be able to fill in the void that Barun will leave.
But is it fair to put the entire blame on Barun Sobti in full public view by displaying the message? Die-hard Sobti fans who are loudly protesting on social networking sites are of the opinion that Star Plus is trying to defame Barun.

WE WANT IPK BACK,,,,,we’ll miss Barun a lot,but without IPK everyday is just boaring,,,my world is empty without Arnav-Khushi,not only there JODI is best but individually also their characters r unique n outstanding,,, i don’t think any other actor cud hv performed KHUSHI’s craziness n ASR’s style so much gracefully n perfectly.I JUST LUV THIS SHOW RIGHT FROM ITS BEGINING BUT MOST WHEN ARSHI’S DATE SEQ.TO AKASH-PAYAL WEDDING.THESE R THE GOLDEN DAYS OF IPK,,,,if later Barun want to he can cont.the show but right now we want our show back..

Barun isn’t coming back and there is no new IPKKND 2. The only way to bring the show back is the same way Barun fans ended the show, by bombarding StarPlus with phones and mails to get the show back on. First we should get the show back on but it will be without Barun. Second step is if Viraf not good enough to take Barun place then we could replace him. First we have to get IPKKND show going again. First let’s help get all IPKKND characters their jobs back and get the show going again. All you Barun fans who ended IPKKND show have mess it up for everyone. Barun was not the only star in the show, so if you got any decency left and think for others as well help us get the show back

Please Please Please bring Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. Past few days has been boring and I miss this serial so much, nothing on Starplus is worth watching. I know Barun has quited and gone for Bollywood filming but still want to want IPKKND even without Barun. Bring Back IPKKND without Barun,we would miss him but good luck to him. There is no serial that is as good as this one, after it ended it’s gone boring.

IPKKND should be brought back, it’s was the best serial. I felt sooo sad seeing Khushi,Anjali,Payal,Buaji,Nana ji and NK crying losing they jobs and enjoy working together. Barun not crying just doing want he wanting, is to quit. I think ending the serial was a big mistake and it’s up to us to help get the IPKKND serial back and correct our mistake. Barun would be missed but fresh start. GET OUR SERIAL BACK AND THE ONLY WAY WE CAN DO THIS, IS THE SAME WAY WE ENDED IT.

Bring back IPKKND. We miss it so much even if Barun not in the serial, so bring it back without Barun if nessary. We would only miss Barun but still we want the serial back now.

Bring back IPKKND with or without Barun. Barun wanted to quit let him, But we want the show to continue. All those CRAZY Barun fans put an end to the show becuz they can’t see khushi with another man. What would they do if Khushi (Sanaya) start a new serial and plays romance scene with another man or Barun play an romance scene with another woman, would they end that show too. Khushi character was brillant and all the character’s but now the show has ended I don’t think they would make (IPKKND 2) after that stupid stunt you pulled and do you think that all the actors would wait around for (IPKKND 2) don’t think so. You should have let the show continue and if Viraf was not good enough, he could have been replace. How would you like it if we make Barun Bollywood film to flop or end any future serial of his, just like you CRAZY fans did. You love Barun don’t you and we loved that IPKKND show. Bring our show back or Barun with get Bollywood film to flop and bombard him with hate mail. We was Barun fans too but after your actions, you made us hate him.

Please help bring IPKKND show back with or without Barun. Barun wanted to quit so why the hell did Baran CRAZY fans ruin it for everyone esle. We loved khushi and the other stars as well and Barun was not the only star in the show. The show could of continue, and that what we wanted. You CRAZY Barun fans get our show back and if you don’t like the replacement of Barun then you could change your tv station. I was a Barun fan as well but now I’m starting to hate him becuz of your action. If Khushi start a new serial and romance with another man would you stop that show too?. Would you stop Barun playing a romance scene with another girl in a serial or movie? I don’t think you can get IPKKND back. How would you feel if we ended Barun Bollywood Film or Serial?

I enjoyed all episodes and still believe that Barun is being defamed by SP. Well someone has to shoulder the blame and who better than the one man who decided to leave for reasons very personal. NEVER and I mean it has Barun ever said that he’s leaving for a career in B’Wood. When all attempts by SP and PH to carry on without Barun as ASR failed they just put an abrupt end and dumped all blame on Barun……….

Please bring back IPKKND. It’s not fair I’m IPKKND fan and Barun fans pull the plug out on the show. I want the show back on with or without Barun. All the team lost there jobs becuz of your action. what about all the other starS in the show. If Barun want to quit that’s his business but it’s not fair for the viewers and other actors. I understand that they were a great jodi but so what if they replacement him the end result is the show would have continue and give it time or chance and see how it goes and if you don’t like it change your tv station. IT’S BARUN FANS FAULT IPKKND IS OFF AIR AND WE ALL HAVE TO MISS OUT AND I BET YOUR CAN’T BRING SHOW BACK

My comment is for somebody named SANA…….we don’t know what U think about BARUN and ipkknd. Real life and the show is different. Barun looks- whatever you mentioned-in show is right, but that doesn’t mean that he is the same in real life. If it was so it will not b called as a show, it will be called reality show. Oh…when sanaya did MJHT, did she look like gunjan off screen???? Every body got different nature. Nobody is giving full credit to barun, as we all know-even star plus-if barun leaves the show its not going tobe off air very soon. They realized it. So please……..thank you for all good things u said about how he was in show.

HEY GUYS DON’T BLAME SP OR PH,,,yes i hv heard barun has got an IMP.role in Ekta Kapoors film,so he left the show for movies.though i luv Barun from the bottom of my heart,i m so much disappointed with him……he shud hv told truth to fans we wud hv supported him,,,2day when i watched crying Sanaya(on SBS) felt very very sorry for her,she wanted to continue the show…but just b’coz of we fans show is gng off-air n we hurt her badly,i cann’t c her in so much pain

U r rite,he should have said the truth in public,we fans thought that the storyline n GUL to be the cause and wanted to end the show.i would have atleast called starplus 100times.
atleast we should have known the truth n allowed the show to carry.now we dnt have barun who was a lined up movies in hand n neither sanaya n others who have lost their work in a fornight.

i dont know whats wrong with star plus.Mr Barun Sobti never told anyone to end the show.its us the viewers who demanded for it(if and only if Barun cannot be retained).and where did his film career came from?Barun himself cleared it many times that he has no movies in his hand(except the one which will release soon)…

Yes it strue he ha smovies lined up with ekta kapoor movie almost fixed him as lead .i feel really sorry thinking its PH SP N GUL.we fans asked the show to end .now he dnt have entire
