The first romantic song from Yash Chopra’s love triangle is finally out

We have all been waiting with bated breath to get a sneak peek into the songs of Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. After the fun number Challa, the next song to be unveiled by Yash Raj Films is the romantic Saans.

AR Rahman and Gulzar are an Oscar-winning combination and we expect them to deliver something exceptional each time they come together. This song is lilting, but not outstanding by any standard. Probably our expectations are just too high, but then why not! Lyrics like Saans mein teri saans mili to mujhe saans ayi sound just about okay too. But it’s a melody that could grow on you if you give it time. Mohit Chauhan and Shreya Ghosal are romantic song specialists, and their singing does breathe a lot of life into anything that they do.

The visuals are beautiful and refreshing – typically Yash Chopra – except for the li’l bits of naughty content that he shows (Kat licking food off SRK’s cheek and the two wrapped in one blanket on the terrace) to make the romance feel young and happening. What everyone’s waiting to find out is: Do SRK and Kat share great chemistry in this love tale? Guess it’s going to take a little getting used to before we can start enjoying this new onscreen couple.
