The director of films like Provoked and Bawandar died in Mumbai on Sunday
Filmmaker Jagmohan Mundhra passed away on the morning of September 4 in Mumbai. He was 62. The director suffered a cardiac arrest and internal bleeding. He had not been keeping well for quite some time. Known for directing films like Provoked (starring Aishwarya Rai) and Bawandar (starring Nandita Das), the whole industry is in a state of shock and has been paying homage to the director by posting condolence messages on social networking sites. Mundhra was born in Nagpur on October 29, 1948, in a conservative Marwari family and raised in Kolkata. He came a long way from studying engineering at IIT Bombay to making films in Hollywood. A shadow of sadness is cast over the industry as it suffers another loss this year after Shammi Kapoor.
