The Dabangg Khan’s latest release has started picking up slowly
Salman Khan’s Jai Ho released on the Republic Day weekend. Fans of the Being Human actor were looking forward for this film since they had not seen their favourite Khan on the big screen for more than a year.
The film had high expectations especially because Shahrukh Khan’s Chennai Express, Hrithik Roshan’s Krrish 3 and Aamir Khan’s Dhoom:3 did phenomenally well at the box office in 2013. The film managed to rake in Rs 17.55 crore in the opening day box office collections. On the opening weekend front, the film’s Saturday box office collections were Rs 16.68 crore, and the Sunday figure is estimated to be around Rs 26.25 crore, taking the figure to Rs 60.68 crore for the first three days.
According to industry expert Taran Adarsh, “No one can read the audience’s mind. What the industry folk may consider ‘hot’ within the industry may not be the case with the moviegoer who has to dig into his/her pocket to shell out hard-earned money to watch a film. Jai ho has everything going in its favor… Salman Khan in the lead and a Salman release after more than a year. On top of that it was a Republic Day weekend.
