Jaya Bachchan, who’s known for her terrific performances and her ever-famous family, turns older by a year today!
Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan was born on April 9, 1948 to Indira and Tarun Kumar Bhaduri in Jabalpur. Sixty-four years after that day, the actor-cum-politician can look back and boast of a life worth living. With kids Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda settled snugly into their households and hubby Amitabh Bachchan still reigning B-town, we’re sure Jaya is a happy woman today. And why not! Now she even has Beti B aka Aaradhya to share her birthday cake with, right?
After delivering hits like Guddi (1971), Bawarchi (1972), Abhimaan (1973), Mili (1975) and Sholay (1975) Jaya took a break from acting from acting post marriage and kids in 1981, only to return 18 years later with Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa (1998), Fiza (2000), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001) and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), movies that assured her a fair share of the limelight. But then Bollywood wasn’t the only to-do on Jaya’s list. By now the lady had stepped into the world of politics and devoted a considerable amount of time to it. Currently Jaya represents the Samajwadi Party in the Rajya Sabha and keeps popping in and out of news for the bindaas political statements she issues.
What’s more, for all you people who have been missing Jaya on the silver screen, gear up to see her teaming up with veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah for Rituparno Ghosh’s Taak Jhhank, which we hope will be a delight to watch. And on that note we conclude by wishing the free-spirited Jaya a very blissful birthday. Send in your wishes to Jaya Bachchan!
