The police has gathered information which hint that the troubled actor had tried to end her life earlier too by cutting her wrist

Jiah Khan’s suicide has taken a new turn; the police officer investigating the case has revealed that Khan had attempted suicide almost eight months ago and was apparently drunk when she slit her wrist. And this time a pack of Ayurvedic sleeping pills has been found in her bedroom.

It’s learnt that Aditya Pancholi’s son Suraj Pancholi and Jiah met through a social networking site and were in a relationship for the past one year. In her police statement, the Nishabd actor’s mother, Rabia Khan admitted that her daughter was dating Suraj but didn’t blame him or anyone else for the suicide. Rabia said that Jiah was depressed for the past several months. And Suraj too in his statement to the police has mentioned that Jiah was upset because of lack of film offers and no work for the past couple of years, which could be attributed to her earlier suicide attempt as well.

Jiah’s postmortem report indicates that she died of asphyxia due to hanging. “There were no additional injuries or bruises on her body except for the anti-mortem ligature mark on her neck which was caused due to hanging,” said Dr TP Lahane, Dean at JJ Hospital while taking to a newspaper. “Presently, we cannot say if she was under the influence of alcohol/ drugs when she hanged herself,” he added.

Additional Commissioner of Police, Vishwas Patil said that they are investigating the case and have already seized Jiah’s laptop and will check her messages, call records, email account etc.
