The actor’s recently released flick I, Me Aur Main was very close to a dud. Does that give John a reason to whine endlessly?
“Honestly, it came as a surprise, and a huge learning. We have made a lot of mistakes along the way with this film (I, Me Aur Main), and I can assure you that these mistakes will not be repeated in any of my forthcoming films.”
He went on…
“I admit that the film released at a very bad time. Children, particularly teenagers, form a large part of my fan base. And most of them are busy with their exams now. Henceforth, I won’t let studios or producers dictate terms or force me to accept the release date for my films. Traditionally, stars veto the release date. In this case I agreed to a date that was suggested to me. And my worst fears came true”
And on…
“I am not happy with the way the film was marketed and promoted at all. I can tell you only one thing, very little was done too late. I guess that says it all.”

Sholay was released at an odd time with not much publicity. It started garnering response after a couple of weeks by word of mouth publicity.
John, methinks thou doth protest too much!
He’s a dud actor and his standard expression is to lift is eyebrows, lower his face and try and give a crooked smile. He’s definitely hot to look at but that’s it.
Blaming publicity and release date etc is really silly. Just admit, pic was a bore and (so sorry…) you are too, John!
