After watching the Marathi film, the Border director got so emotional that he decided to remake it
Bollywood’s veteran producer and director JP Dutta, who is known for his memorable films like Border, Refugee, LOC, Kargil and Umrao Jaan is all set to remake an award-winning Marathi film. The 63-year-old recently watched Baboo Band Baja and was heavily impressed by the film’s content. Dutta became so emotional with the film’s message that he decided to make the film on a larger scale for the wider audience.
Produced by Nita Jadhav and directed by debutante Rajesh Pinjani Baboo Band Baaja is a film about the significance of education within the rural areas of the country. The story shows the irrepressible urge to soar in life despite getting caught up in unfavourable circumstances.
It had won three National Film Awards including Best Actress, Best Debut Film Director and also went on to bag six Maharashtra State Film Awards in 2011. Now the film has caught the interest of JP Dutta and we hope the senior director will do justice to the acclaimed film.
