Were you all left wondering about Kajal Aggarwal when you saw Ajay Devgn-Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer Singham Returns? Everyone was. But we have some news of her whereabouts. The south import, who was last seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Special 26, will make a comeback to B-Town with Sudhir Mishra’s adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s Devdas.

The Singham girl will be seen essaying the role of Chandramukhi, while the character of Paro will be essayed by Richa Chadda and the title character of Devdas will be played by Rahul Bhatt. Rahul will soon be seen in Anurag Kashyap’s Ugly. With the star cast finalised, the film is all set to go on floors by the end of this month. Previously it was informed that Aditi Rao Hydari will be playing the character of Chandramukhi and before that it was said that Chitrangada Singh will be playing the role, but both of them were facing date issues and therefore, opted out of the film. Talking to a leading daily Rahul confirms the news saying, “I know them (Richa and Kajal) socially. If Sudhir has chosen them to play such pivotal roles, it goes without saying that they are talented. The film is a modern version of Devdas so I don’t have to grow my hair.”

After watching Anurag Kashyap’s Dev D, which was a modern day adaptation of Devdas, we are once again very eager to watch another ace filmmaker bring forward his take on the classic cult novel. What do you think BollywoodLifers?
