Last year at the book launch of Gautam Rajayadhaksha’s coffee table book, a few of the ace-photographer’s favourite Bollywood ladies said some very nice words about the lensman
Some time ago Gautam Rajayadhaksha launched the Marathi edition of his popular and successful coffee table book – FACES – presenting the celebrated photographer’s works from his long tenure in the industry. And, as expected, most of the lovely Bollywood ladies he had shot turned up to wish him all success. Lata Mangeshkar, Rekha, Jaya Bachchan, Hema Malini, Asha Bhosle, Kajol and Padmini Kolhapure were some of those who expressed their love for Gautam. Here’s how….
I am sure people will love the book (Chehre). Gautam is a very good photographer and a very good writer.
I had the opportunity to be photographed by him, and you can see how he has transformed me from nothing to something.
We look so beautiful, and it’s thanks to Gautam!
Gautam with his unerring eye looked at me, clicked me and showed me what I could look like.
Today’s generation will not know because their tastes have changed. But I hope that the works of artists like him does come to the new generation.
