Kangna Ranaut: Chennai Express didn’t do well just because of Shahrukh Khan, but also because of Deepika Padukone’s credibility!

They’ve been pitted against each other with their films clashing at the box-office this Friday, but Kangy is still full of positive things to say about Dippy…

Kangna Ranaut is all praises for her competitor Deepika Padukone. The two heroines were spotted at a suburban restaurant recently and speculation was rife that they were trying to avoid clashing at the box-office. We don’t know if that was true or not, but Kangna certainly respects Deepika. The Rajjo actor in a recent interview credited Dippy for the smashing success of Chennai Express. “It’s not that if Chennai Express did well it was only because of Shahrukh (Khan). It was also because of Deepika Padukone’s credibility.” We like the way this fiery Fashion babe speaks her mind. Kangy went on to add that the industry is extremely chauvinistic. “Forget the credit, they (male actors) take all the money as well. We don’t get paid even one-third of what male actors get. It’s not so much about the money, but it’s about (being a) woman. When it comes to paying us, they (filmmakers) wouldn’t want to, just because I am a girl. This is very unfair.”

Well said, Kangna! The actor is set to take centrestage and play some meaty roles in women-centric films in the coming days. We hope that Kangna manages to stand tall – whether the film is a hit or a flop doesn’t matter, hai na? After all, it might just be better than playing a blonde in another multistarrer like Rascals. Hehehe…

We likes Rajjo – we don’t know about the film, but its heroine certainly is candid, doesn’t mince words and yes, very, very apolitical. Not to forget, she can also praise the competition. Any comments, Deepika?
