Karan Johar is known to be one of the friendliest people in the film fraternity. The director who has given the country some memorable classics like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai has had some of the most long-lasting associations with the biggest B-Town celebrities. That’s also the reason why almost all of the industry attends his popular birthday parties!
The director who can go great lengths to help his friends has added another feather to his cap. We heard reports that to star in Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, where KJo will be seen playing a negative role, he charged merely Rs 11 as token money. The star director wanted to do the film for free and refused to charge a fee for his role!
In a time where actors are quoting some bizarre amounts to sign films, KJo’s sincerity to his friends and filmmaking is commendable!
In Bombay Velvet, Karan will be essaying the role of an influential yet vicious businessman named Kaizad Khambatta. Phantom Films’ co-owners Anurag Kashyap and Vikas Bahl were so touched by Karan’s gesture that they sent a token of appreciation – a giant cheque of Rs.11 to him.
