Karan Johar shoots Bombay Talkies at his home; gets rights of four Madan Mohan classics

For the first time ever, we will get to see KJo’s Carter Road residence on celluloid. And the director has also acquired the rights of Madan Mohan’s classic songs free of cost

Karan Johar can do just about anything and everything. At a time when copyrights fights are at a peak in B-town, the ace filmmaker has gone ahead and bagged the rights of Madan Mohan’s classic songs free of cost.

For his segment in the film, Bombay Talkies that pays a tribute to 100 years of Indian cinema, Karan will include verses Madan Mohan’s famous numbers. What is also interesting is that KJo has shot his segment of the movie at his Carter Road residence, which means for the first time ever, we will get glimpses of the director’s home onscreen. And it might be more than a few sneak peeks ‘coz seems like the director has shot for nine days at his home. Wow! We can’t wait to KJo’s grand pad.

Bombay Talkies is co-directed by Karan, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Anurag Kashyap, and is slated to release on May 3.Subscribe to me on YouTube

Ajeeb dastaan hain yeh was composed by Shanker-Jaikishan. How could this beautiful song be credited to Madan Mohan. Very bad reporting!
