Only moments ago, we shared with you Karan Johar‘s heart touching message to everyone asking people to understand his position in the whole Ae Dil Hai Mushkil controversy. You could see he looked pained and why wouldn’t he be? After shooting the film at exotic locations and making it looks so beautiful, he is at a point when his film might face a lot of opposition at the theatres. He said he was hurt and he even looked hurt. Our heart goes out to him. But it also made us believe that Fawad Khan’s film with Katrina Kaif under Dharma Productions may never happen as he mentioned, “Going forward, I will of course not engage with talent from the neighbouring country.” This makes it clear that Fawad Khan and Katrina Kaif won’t be seen in a Dharma film anytime soon. (Also read: Katrina Kaif finally REACTS on doing a film with Fawad Khan!)
Although no official confirmation was sent out on this film ever, rumours were strong that Katrina and Fawad have been signed for the film. Both apparently had a three film deal with Dharma Productions and this could have been there first film together. In fact reports suggested, the film even had a title Raat Baaki. The movie will be directed by debutant Aditya Dhar who is also a lyricist. It was supposed to be a musical love story and the director who has knowledge about music, had already started work on compositions. The movie was expected to go on floors in November this year, after Fawad got free from his paternal duties and will hit the screens in first half of 2017. But now it seems cancelled because Karan Johar in his video statement said, “Going forward, I would like to say that of course I will not engage with talent from the neighboring country given the circumstance.” This clearly hints that the film has been put in the back burner. It would have been great to see Katrina and Fawad in a film given the fact that both are extremely good looking. In his statement, Karan also added, “Going forward, I would like to say that of course I will not engage with talent from the neighboring country given the circumstance but with that same energy I beseech you to know one thing… that over 300 Indian people in my crew have put their blood, sweat and tears into my film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and I don’t think it’s fair to them to face any kind of turbulence on account of other fellow Indians. I respect the Indian army, I salute the Indian army for everything they do to protect us in our environment. I respect them with all my heart, and I say that I condemn any form of terrorism, any form… and specially the terrorism that would affect my people in my country and me.” But if the situation change for good, it can happen.
