Kareena Kapoor not doing ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’ sequel

It’s almost like a game with revolving doors! First Deepika Padukone walked out of the slick thriller Race 2 which is now being considered by Priyanka Chopra and now the Chammak Challo babe has quit the gangster drama. At the rate these leading ladies are jumping in and out of projects, we are all confused about what who is going to be doing, when…

The gorgeous Kareena Kapoor was keen to be part of the ambitious Milan Luthria-Ekta Kapoor project Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2. However, since the producers didn’t sign anyone else except Akshay Kumar for the film and she did not have a complete script or a proper schedule, the Chammak Challo babe opted out of the gangster drama and gave her time to another producer. Also, with an impending wedding she didn’t want any sort of confusion to upset her marriage plans. Similarly, a lot of leading ladies have said yes to a film but have developed cold feet for various reasons and opted out at the last minute. And some films have gone through a series of rejections before someone agreed to be part of them. All these developments have left us puzzled about the current status of a few of the most-talked-about films still being made…or are they?

Here’s a quick look at this in-and-out game…

Kareena Kapoor was approached, but she turned it down – Aishwarya Rai Bachchan accepted, however the sudden news of her pregnancy scared away the filmmaker from going ahead with her – after some script changes and negotiation for a hefty fee Kareena agreed to do it, saying it had always been hers

Krrish 2
Kangna Ranaut was approached but cited date problems – Chitrangda Singh was offered the role and accepted, then close to the shooting schedule she walked out – Jacqueline Fernandez stepped in, but opted out at the last minute – rumour has it that finally Rakesh Roshan changed the role from villain’s arm candy to a female mutant and now Kangna is back with it

Race 2
Sonakshi Sinha was signed but delay in shooting schedules led to a clash with Dabangg 2 and she quitJacqueline Fernandez is doing that role

Deepika Padukone first said yes – then it was rumoured that she was considering walking out coz she wanted to do Ayan Mukherjee’s film with Ranbir Kapoor – but she worked out her dates and agreed to do it – finally, four days before the shooting starts, she opted out – it is rumoured that the film’s producer sent an SOS to Priyanka Chopra who was approached the previous time Dippy had date troubles and she has liked it

It was speculated that Asin was being considered – eventually Katrina Kaif was approached, but didn’t want to play second fiddle to Priyanka Chopra – South actor Ileana D’Cruz is in

Shootout At Wadala
The film’s producer Ekta Kapoor first approached Vidya Balan, initially she said yes, but then felt the role wasn’t a substantial part so backed out of it – Ekta approached her second favourite actor Kangna Ranaut (she was part of Balaji’s previous production Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai) and the actor immediately gave a green signal to the project
