Kareena Kapoor says her Satyagraha role is inspired by TV journalist Barkha Dutt

Bollywood’s begum, who was recently crowned the Entertainer of the Decade by a news channel, admitted that Dutt’s spirit and sensitivity inspired her greatly

Reel life roles inspired by real life characters are quite interesting. Ask Anil Kapoor who plays an encounter specialist ACP Isaque Bagwaan in Shootout At Wadala and the veteran actor will certainly vouch for that. Similarly, Kareena Kapoor too feels that when you have a strong reference for a role, it makes an actor’s job interesting.

Saif Ali Khan’s begum who’s essaying the role of a TV journo in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha was heavily influenced by the celebrated journalist Barkha Dutt. When asked about her experience, she said, “It’s good to be on the other side for once. It’s a very sensitive role. Everyone wants to ape the respected Barkha Dutt and I really tried in some way to at least capture her spirit and her sensitivity. Prakash Jha has tried to do that. The only thing that I haven’t done is cut my hair and tried to look like her, but she has definitely inspired me just the way she is as a strong personality.”

Now, Barkha Dutt has certainly got a reason to watch Satyagraha. And we are damn sure our talented diva must have done full justice to her character. What do you think BollywoodLifers?Subscribe to me on YouTube
