Kareena Kapoor to play Arundhati

Kareena Kapoor to play Arundhati

The Agent Vinod actor will be seen playing the queen in the Hindi remake of the blockbuster Telugu film

After playing walk-in-walk-out parts in films like RA.One and Agent Vinod, it looks like Kareena Kapoor has finally decided to do some significant roles. After bagging the much-talked about role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine, the actor is now gearing up to play the challenging lead role in the Hindi remake of 2009 Telugu film Arundhati.

Directed by Telugu director Kodi Ramakrishna, Arundhati is a fantasy film which had turned out to be a box office hit. The original film starred Anushka Shetty who had bagged many awards and tremendous accolades for her brilliant performance. And now our sizzling Bebo will be seen playing the mysterious queen – a very powerful character in this woman centric drama.

We hear that Katrina Kaif and Rani Mukerji were also approached for the same role, but they could not do the film due to date problems. Apparently, Bebo adjusted her busy calendar to play the legendary character. Sonu Sood, who played a baddie in the original movie, is going to retain his role in the remake as well.

Kareena is busy working on Heroine right now, after which she will start shooting for Arundhati’s Hindi remake. A little birdie has chirped to us that Priyadarshan was to make this film in Hindi, but he can’t direct the film at such a short notice. The original film’s producer M Shyam Prasad has the rights to remake the film but he’s yet to finalise the director for the Hindi version. Amidst all this there’s a strong buzz that Life In a Metro, Murder, Gangster and Kites director, Anurag Basu, is most likely to don the director’s hat. Anurag has never worked with Kareena before, so this should be an interesting combination to look out for.

The last time Bebo played a royal woman, was in Asoka where she played Princess Kaurwaky, but that one turned out to be a dud at the BO. But that’s in the past. As of now, with two woman centric films in her kitty (Heroine and Arundhati), 2012 is definitely turning out to be an extremely lucky year for Kareena!

I like this web site very much, Its a real nice situation to read and get inoamrotifn. As against having beautiful workshops, studios, etc., one writes best in a cellar on a rainy day. by Van Wyck Brooks.

Arundhathi is a good script, done by right actor at the right time to attain its victory. If the same script goes to the wrong choice like Kareena or Katrina, then the movie is a sure flop even with a good director, good art work & all. Waste of money especially (10 crore ?!!! that too for Kareeeeena)

No Kareena/Sourina (or) Katrina/Fatrina business, it is a movie for Bold & beautiful Sushmita sen, everyone will agree with it. Producers & directors think about it before shooting starting its 1st schedule.

Kareena wont sute to d story. ‘Heroin’ s perfectly made for her but not Arundhathi. Anushka sharma is d right choice for d movie. Show some respect to script.

Jyothika is the best choice to play Arundhati. No other actor Even Anushka can’t do better than Jyothika. Jyothika Acted in Tamil film Kushi directed by S.J Surya. When the film was remade in Hindi the role jyothika played acted by Kareena kapoor. Is she did Justice? No.the roles played by Vijay,Vijaykumar is also not good in Hindi film. Her Facial expressions are the best in Indian film Industry. No other actor can do better than jyothika.Bollywood heroines is only suitable to dance with khans not for acting.Choose jyothika in hindi version of Arundhati and Mozhi.Producers don’t choose bollywood actress such a challenging role. They will waste your Valuable time ,money and Labour.Acting should be born in blood (not by showing…….)
