At the press conference of Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the Ek Tha Tiger babe looked visibly upset after she admitted to have lost the opportunity to shoot the special one-and-a-half minute dream sequence with Yash Chopra
Working in a Yash Chopra film was every heroine’s dream. The director was a star maker who portrayed heroines more beautifully than anyone else in the business. And actors who didn’t manage to work with him will always regret having lost out. Ask Katrina who had always nurtured the dream of working in a Yash Chopra directed film.
At the press conference of Jab Tak Hai Jaan held yesterday at the Yash Raj Studios, Kaif expressed deep regret about not shooting the quintessential dream song in Switzerland (something that Yash Chopra films are famous for) which was to be directed by the King of Romance.
Remember, the song Tere Mere Hothon Pe from Chandni and Tu Mere Saamne (Darr)? “It is sad that we did not get to shoot the song. Manish Malhotra had specially designed 12 white designer sarees, and Yashji and I had already zeroed in on what I would be wearing for the Switzerland song. I remember Yashji saying it will be like a party for the actors when we shoot the sequence of the song in Switzerland,” said Katrina, elaborating, “We had planned the sequence for the song; in fact Yashji even told me exactly how he will shoot the song. But it’s unfortunate that we weren’t able to do it.” Even before she could end, her co-star Shahrukh Khan intervened to inform, “It was just a minute and half of the song that was left to be shot. None of us feel that we should do the song. If we do it, we will be making it impure.”
We feel your loss, Katrina, considering we know how amazing it would have been to watch you adorn a white saree romancing SRK at Chopra’s favourite location. But look at the bright side Kats – you are officially the last Yash Chopra heroine!
