Katrina Kaif’s Bang Bang to not release alongside Priyanka Chopra’s Mary Kom biopic?

As per the latest buzz, Kat and Hrithik starrer Bang Bang won’t hit the theatres on October 2 as the film is far from being complete. In that case, no double dose of Katrina at the box office and also less competition for PC

Just a few days back, we told three big films – Bang Bang, Mary Kom biopic and Phantom would be releasing together on October 2. However, Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif’s action thriller Bang Bang is lagging behind and the makers are still working on the film. So the remake of Hollywood hit film Knight and Day may not hit the screens on the eve of Gandhi Jayanti. While talking to a leading daily, a source from Mary Kom unit said, “We enquired internally from Fox Star. We were told they were desperate to meet the October 2 deadline. But there is no way they can actually make it on that Friday without compromising drastically on quality. Bang Bang requires a whole lot of special effects and post-production is moving slow. We are very sure it won’t release on October 2. And that is why we’ve announced Mary Kom for that date.”

While sources from Fox Star claim that Bang Bang would release on time, a member from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-talked about biopic film maintains that Duggu and Ms Kaif’s film won’t be ready before the end of the year. That’s according to a report in a leading daily.

Even if Bang Bang doesn’t release on October 2, Kat’s other film Phantom co-starring Saif Ali Khan will. So Priyanka Chopra, who plays the titular role in Mary Kom biopic, will clash with Ranbir Kapoor’s alleged girlfriend but instead of two, PC will only have one film to compete with at the box office. Now that’s a fair play, hai na?
