The Akshay Kumar-Asin Thottumkal-Himesh Reshammiya starrer has managed to get a bumper opening at major metropolitan cities

The makers of Khiladi 786, especially producer-actor Himesh Reshammiya and Akshay Kumar, are on cloud nine. And why not? Their latest rom-com, penned by Himesh, has brought them good news at the box office, on the day of its release. If trade analysts are to be believed, the mass centres opened to packed houses for the morning shows in Mumbai, Punjab and Rajasthan, while multiplexes in cities are expected to witness a big jump in the evening shows and over the weekends. Single screens in UP/Bihar, Rajasthan, Gujarat opened to 85 per cent occupancy for the morning shows, and were running to 90 per cent for the matinee (noon) shows. “The opening of Khiladi 786 is terrific. I’m very happy,” informed Himesh ecstatically.

The film’s has had an extensive release with 2,786 screens across the country, so even a 60-70 per cent all-India start will be good enough to generate decent collections at the box office. Considering Dabangg 2 is still three weeks away, Khiladi 786 is expected to make the most out of this phase. Watch this space for more box office updates.
