‘Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum’ box office crosses Rs 20 crore

The opening weekend box office collections of the adult comedy stand at Rs 23.6 crore

According to trade reports, Ekta Kapoor’s sex comedy Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum has garnered about Rs 22 crore on its opening weekend, but the makers are claiming collections of Rs 23.06 crore, saying that these are the highest ever figures for films releasing during the festival month of Ramadan.Starring Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Sarah-Jane Dias and Neha Sharma, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum got average critic reviews but did good business in Mumbai, Delhi and Rajasthan over the last weekend.

ALT Entertainment, Ekta Kapoor’s production house, expects the film to cross Rs 45 crore in the coming weeks. They claim it is already among the top 10 openers of 2012. Their figures for the weekend are Friday Rs 7.12 crore, Saturday Rs 7.03 crore and Sunday Rs 8.91 crore, while trade magazine Boxofficeindia‘s estimated figures stand at Friday Rs 6.75 crore nett, Saturday Rs 7 crore nett and Sunday Rs 8-8.25 crore nett.

Ekta said in a statement, “The film is critic-proof. The audience across the country is enjoying it immensely, which is evident in such never-seen-before collections for a film of this size and budget.”
