Legal woes for Deepika Padukone’s Ram-Leela continue

The cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela are happy having hit the Rs 100 crore mark, but controversy still doesn’t fail to follow them

Deepika Padukone – Ranveer Singh starrer Ram-Leela (as it was earlier called) has pending legal woes that continue to haunt them even post their film’s release and success. The Chief Judicial Magistrate of Lucknow has now sought report from the Gomti Nagar station officer by December 8 on social activist Nutan Thakur’s case for registration of FIR against the makers of Ram-Leela and director of Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram-Leela Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

According to the complaint, the makers gave this title to their film despite orders from the Allahabad High Court in a previous case filed by her. The Court had addressed this as religious sensitive matter that needed to be addressed. However the Censor Board under Leela Samson passed this film despite knowing the orders of Allahabad High Court. The UP High Court had in fact banned this film in the state as it felt that the film hurt Hindu sentiments. Based on these facts, Thakur approached the Court after the police refused to register the FIR.

Looks like Ram-Leela woes are never ending…
