The film that brings together the Chashme Buddoor and Katha pair of Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval has been selected for the 15th London Asian Film Festival
Farooque Shaikh and Deepti Naval-starrer Listen Amaya will be screened at the 15th London Asian Film Festival, to be held in March next year. Directed by debutant Avinash Kumar Singh, the film sees Farooque and Deepti sharing the screen 28 years after their 1983 film Katha. Listen Amaya tells the story of Amaya and her widowed mother, who begins to develop a relationship with Amaya’s friend played by Farooque Shaikh. Swara Bhaskar plays the role of Amaya in the film.
“I am glad and very much happy that this film has been selected for London Asian Film fest. Avinash has tried to tell a beautiful story and it is a very sweet film,” said Farooque. “I hope this film gets recognition from everywhere and lots of luck to Avinash,” he added.
The film had previously bagged the Best Feature and Best Director awards at the New Jersey Independent South Asian Cinefest. A self-funded film, Listen Amaya has received a standing ovation wherever it has been screened.
