The director refutes allegations of Hollywood ‘inspirations’
The Bhatts have been known for lifting ideas from Hollywood films and making them in their trademark style in Bollywood.In a recent interview Mahesh Bhatt said, “Serial killers aren’t new to world cinema – Jack the Ripper, The Silence of the Lambs – there were references that we tried to take. But at the heart of it, Murder 2 is based on the Nithari killings and our social problems like teen prostitution.” Well, wethinks Mr Bhatt sounded like a certain Mr Ram Gopal Varma!
