Mahie Gill, Richa Chadda, Gul Panag, Kirron Kher: Who is the biggest fashion disaster?

Didn’t anyone tell these ladies that the fashion police was monitoring the ongoing Lakme India Fashion Week? Here’s a list of celebs topping our hit list – who deserves to be pardoned and who should be…err…arrested?

While most celebs flaunt the best from their wardrobe at fashion weeks, there are some who seem to close their eyes and grab the nearest thing they can reach. Which tends to result in some fabulous fashion faux pas, like we saw at Lakme India Fashion Week 2013. We are certainly not amused by the styles sported by these divas, but we leave it to you to tell us what you think.

We spotted the Dev D girl Mahie Gill in a Pria Kataria Puri creation. Yes, she’s the one known for her bold roles and she’s tried to live up to that image on the ramp too. Mahie dared to opt for a dangerously plunging neckline on a glittery gold dress that showed us a little more than we wanted to see…of Mahie, of course! We wonder if it was a vain attempt to grab eyeballs. Her accessories failed to impress us too. And the red nail paint was messily daubed on her toenails that peeped out of her ghastly golden sandals. Thumbs down for Mahie!

Do you remember Gul Panag, the young lady who was crowned Miss India in 1999? She generally dresses edgy, with a clean, almost androgynous style. This time Gul wore a dodger-blue choker-necked jumpsuit by Anita Dongre. Though the lady is pretty much in shape, her arms were kinda bulging and muscular. She looked very dull. The least that she could have done to add a little zing to her monochromatic appearance was line her eyes with kohl! We wonder why some celebs lose their glam factor, post-marriage…maybe it is the biker babe in Gul expressing herself!

Gangs of Wasseypur star Richa Chadda was spotted in a black dress. While she’s all out to experiment with the roles she plays, we wish she would do the same with her style. Playing it safe with black isn’t always a good option, gal! The neckline of Richa’s dress revealed rather more of her bosom than she perhaps intended to. And that hairstyle? All we will say is that she needs a new hairstylist, and urgently! It looks like all she did was comb her hair and walk out to pose for the ‘bugs. We expected better from this award-winning actress.

Other usually lovely ladies that caught our attention for all the wrong reasons include singer Anushka Manchanda, model turned actor Shenaz Treasurywala and the once-upon-a-time cute Sana Saeed, who has just been eliminated from Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6.

Anushka wore a black and white illusion dress. The puffed checkered sleeves deserve a loud NO! While this leggy lass usually has a quirky charm, this time she seemed to be dressed up as a chessboard for a costume party! Shenaz Treasurywala sported a randomly printed green outfit baring her midriff. That ensemble – was it a dress? a jumpsuit? what? – looked like a nasty combination of a kimono and a belly dancer’s costume…and we ain’t kidding! Sana Saeed was seen in a short white top and an equally short white skirt – a game of tennis, anyone? She had smeared her lips bright red and her nails were painted Barbie pink. Sana carried a pink clutch and her shoes were candy pink too. She looked like a bad copy of a Barbie doll. Ugh!

And then came the mother of all the fashion disasters – Kirron Kher! Everyone’s favourite filmi mummy had gone overboard with everything, from the print of her saree to the accessories that she sported! Just a quick glance at her and we had to sit down with our eyes firmly shut.

It’s truly not easy for us to decide who tops the hit list. So, mirror mirror on the wall, you tell us: Who’s the worst dressed of them all?
