Main Tera Hero music review: Arijit Singh, Javed Ali and Sajid-Wajid bring back the David Dhawan style of music!

Music: Sajid-Wajid

Lyrics: Kumaar, Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri

Singers: Benny Dayal, Shalmali Kholgade, Arijit Singh, Neeti Mohan, Javed Ali, DJ Notorious and DJ Chetas

David Dhawan – the undisputed king of comedies, is back with another rib tickling romantic-action-comedy film Main Tera Hero. The film would star his younger son Varun Dhawan, Ileana D’Cruz and Nargis Fakhri in lead roles. David seems to be getting back to what he was best known for—making Govinda style movies. Not just the movie’s promos but also the music of the film seems to have the flavour of Govinda’s films from the ‘90s. So has the music impressed us or let us down? Find out in the song by song music review.

Besharmi ki height

Sung by Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade, his party number is young, zestful and absolutely adrenaline-pumping. The lyrics by Kumaar are apt for the occasion. The DJ’s would love this song and this is sure going to be a hit on the dance floor. You wouldn’t be able to get enough of this song while having your party shoes on and you would definitely be shouting ‘once more, once more’.

Palat – tera hero idhar hai

This number by Arijit Singh is the best one in the whole album. It is the title track of the movie and you will be humming this song long after you have left the theatres. Arijit is known for giving soulful, romantic tracks and before people could typecast him in that genre, he comes up with this song to prove his versatility in other genres. The lyrics by Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri give the perfect Govinda-ish song. The music is foot tapping and will make you feel like dancing.

Shanivaar raati

Rendered by Arijit Singh and Shalmali Kholgade, this is Punjabi track is loaded with thumkedaar dhol beats. Arijit’s improvisations all throughout the song give this song the necessary pump. It gives a ‘90s feel along with a lot of contemporary nagada thumping beats. The lyrics by Kumaar don’t matter at all because when you are listening to this track all you want to do is lift up your hands and dance to the bhangra.

Galat baat hai

This song by Neeti Mohan and Javed Ali takes you to the retro mode. It gives you the feel of Meri pant bhi sexy along with some contemporary beats and thumkas. The constant humming of Am back on the background gives you a feel that David Dhawan is definitely back to doing what he is best at. Javed Ali also tries to break shackles of being typecast as a romantic singer and proves his prowess in this hatke track. The lyrics by Kausar Munir and Danish Sabri are also hatke and build up the feel for the song.

Besharmi ki height (Remix)

The original song by Benny Dayal and Shalmali Kholgade was in itself peppy and adrenaline pumping and the mixing by DJ Notorious has only added to the feel. This is perfect for a house party (and saves you the cost of hiring a DJ) and you would be able to dance to the original song with the added punches by the DJ. The mixing is good and the DJ has very nicely understood the highs and lows of the song and has aptly added the necessary pumps to make the party track an even better treat for the dance floor.

Shanivaar raati (Remix)

The mixing of the original song by DJ Chetas has made this thumkedaar Punjabi song into a party track. The voices of Arijit Singh and Shalmali Kholgade are at their best. This would definitely be another treat for people having a house party and for the guests whose main motive is to dance whatever the lyrics are.

Verdict: For all the lovers of great classy music stay miles away from this album. For all the rest, this album is for you. Let your hair lose, put on your party shoes and dance like in no one is watching! Our pick of the Main Tera Hero album is not any single one – but all of them!
