Mastram first look: Porn writing is back with a bang!

In what can be called the fictional account of one of the most read –and only secretly celebrated-erotic writers of the country Mastram, filmmaker Akhilesh Jaiswal portrays the journey of a man who chose to sell wild fantasies

Akhilesh Jaiswal, the screenwriter of Anurag Kashyap’s widely acclaimed movie Gangs Of Wasseypur (2012), is all set to tell a bold story of a man who sold fantasies with his erotic writings. The trailer of Jaiswal’s movie shows a time when every home did not have a TV set and there was no internet. The story revolves around a real guy whose pen name was Mastram who used his prowess for words to create a fantasy world no man could talk about openly, but chose to indulge in its playfulness secretly.

Books written by Mastram were sold at railway stations and roadside shops in North India through the ‘80s and ‘90s. “Mastram was not a bad guy. So what if he wrote porn? I have shown him as a good man, a good family man who wants to be a writer. He tries to follow his dreams, but with financial burden and people rejecting his other writings, he eventually starts writing porn,” said Jaiswal about the movie.

Here’s the first look of the film with a sensation subject as its theme that will give you fair bit of idea of the unconventional plot of Jaiswal’s directorial venture. It shatters the collective hypocrisy that our society projects when it comes to discussing sex with our unrealistic moral codes.
