Just yesterday we told how Shiv Sena is irked by Mastram posters which have been put up on BEST buses as a part of promotions. Now we hear the film’s posters will be altered on the buses coz of the saffron gang’s objection
Script writer-turned- director Akhilesh Jaiswal’s Mastram will hit the theatres next month. While the makers are leaving no stone unturned to promote this controversial flick, their strategy has hit a roadblock courtesy Uddhav Thackeray led Shiv Sena party. After general secretary of Shiv Sena Chitrapat Sena Akshay Bardapurkar expressed his displeasure over the Mastram posters, BEST chairman, Arun Dudhwadkar has asked the producers of Mastram to erase objectionable lines from the posters which are currently seen on buses. While talking to a leading tabloid, Dudhwadkar said, “We have asked them to delete a Hindi line from the posters which goes something like this: ‘If you don’t know about Mastram, please ask your father and uncle about him’. We felt that these lines would corrupt children’s minds.”
Apparently, producer Sunil Bohra has already made the required changes in the film’s posters. “Taking heed of the objections that have been raised, we have now put up white stickers on these buses in order to block out these lines,” a source told the tabloid. However, the saffron gang is still not happy and is now demanding that the posters of Mastram should be removed completely. Bardapurkar told the tabloid, “We have requested the chairman to take strong action against the posters. But now it is BEST’s prerogative to take suitable action as per their rules and regulations”
Considering that Bohra has already shelled out Rs 10 lakh for his film’s promotions, the filmmaker would suffer a huge lose if the posters are taken off from the BEST buses. We’ll have to wait and watch what happens next!
