Apart from the sexy Nargis Fakhri, the young Kapoor has one more woman to deal with in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar

Nargis Fakhri may be making headlines for her liaison with co-star Ranbir Kapoor – is there any real-life bond, or is it all movie ke liye kuch bhi? – but there is one more woman in this hot male’s life that very few know anything about. We’re talking about Aditi Rao Hydari, who plays a prominent part in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar, but is apparently being kept under wraps. She is the petite actor who first appeared in Delhi-6 as the coy, unmarried aunt of Sonam Kapoor. In Yeh Saali Zindagi she dropped the demureness and plunged into full-on sexiness, sharing umpteen passion-loaded kisses with co-star Arunoday Singh. Critics said she did a good job at being bold. And now she has this Ranbir starrer. Initially, Aditi auditioned for the female lead in Rockstar, but the director was more keen to cast bikini-model Nargis. But Imtiaz wanted Aditi as well in the film, so he offered her the second lead. Though it is not top billing, the young actor is gung-ho about it, saying, “It’s something like what Rani Mukerji’s role was in Veer-Zaara. She was a lawyer and I play a young journalist.” She reveals more about her part: “It’s through her eyes that you see this person (Ranbir’s character). My part is not the main love story of the film, but it’s a nicely layered one. It goes through a good growth.” Ah, now we know why she is happy. Her role in Delhi-6 did not pan out as promised and turned out one-dimensional, but hopefully her ‘growth’ would make her a rock star!
