‘Mere Brother Ki Dulhan’ story leaked!

Though the film releases this week, the story of the Katrina Kaif-Imran Khan-Ali Zafar starrer has been held back for longer than we expected. Now we know…

It would not take a rocket scientist to figure out the story of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, but as our source told us about it with such pride, we thought we might as well share it with you. You may have heard that Imran Khan was not in the least bit interested in doing this film. We hear that after reading the cheesy title, he was totally turned off, and had put the script aside. Only after his mom read the script and liked it did he even consider going through it again. Imran returns to charm-mode with his chocolate boy looks in this light-hearted but twisted tale of love. The film also stars Katrina Kaif and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar in lead roles. Set in the milieu of an urban middle class family, the quirky comedy deals with two brothers – Luv Agnihotri (Ali Zafar) and Kush Agnihotri (Imran Khan). While Kush works as an assistant director in the film industry (have we seen that one before? Remember I Hate Luv Storys?), his elder brother Luv works as an investment banker in London. A casanova by heart, Luv realises he wants to get married and settle down with an Indian girl. Kush is given the task of bride hunting for his brother and, during this quest, he encounters some wacky and funny situations. Finally he meets Dimple Dixit (Katrina), who likes to lead a life with no boundaries. She is also from London, but is a true Indian at heart. Dimple is the craziest girl Kush has ever met. So while everything is finalised and preparations are in full swing, Kush realises he has fallen in love with his brother’s ‘dulhan’. This is followed by a string of comical and predictable events – which forms the major part of the film. Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is inspired from matrimonial ads and the writer-director Ali Abbas Zafar has woven his story around those. It is said that Zafar was also inspired by Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Chupke Chupke and Golmaal. We hear also that the delectably delicious but dramatically-challenged John Abraham makes a friendly appearance. You have been warned.Subscribe to me on YouTube
