This weekend we saw the popular couple getting eliminated. But they had decided to quit the show last week itself…so what’s the deal?
This year in Nach Baliye 6 we witnessed almost all the couples getting seriously injured more than once. While minor cuts, bruises and aches were ignored, severe ligament tears and fractures have cost dancers their performances. One amongst them was our sexy and hot couple Riddhi Dogra and Raqesh Vashisth. Three weeks back, Raqesh had a serious knee injury during rehearsals, which took a toll on their performances in the following weeks.
However, they still managed to get into the top three slot ‘coz of their popularity and effort they put in their dancing. But irrespective of their rank on the show, the duo decided to bow out of the show even before last week’s performance.
According to Riddhi’s interview to a daily, she said that they approached the channel and informed them about their decision. They even wanted to announce it to their fans on the channel. But apparently, the channel requested them to not make any announcements because they couldn’t have so many stars leaving the show in one week. Remember Ankur Ghai and Kanika Maheshwari‘s elimination after their performance last week? According to our sources, even Ankur and Kanika wanted to back out owing to their injuries, but they were eliminated instead.
So does that mean that the channel conveniently picked them to be eliminated instead of letting them leave the show gracefully? Well, at least Riddhi claims so; the actor was miffed at the channel for eliminating them when they were ready to bow out long before their ouster.
Did Riddhi and Raqesh actually receive the least votes? Or did the channel just make the injured couple who wanted to quit the show, a scapegoat? Either ways, we now have the final five to battle it out in the semi-finals — Gurmeet Choudhary-Debina Bonnerjee; Ripudaman Handa-Shivani Verma; Kiku Sharda-Piriyanka Sharda; Asha Negi-Rithvik Dhanjani and Vinod-Raksha — who do you think will win BollywoodLifers?
