Nach Baliye 6: Kanika Maheshwari injures her foot during rehearsals

Injuries are becoming the norm of the day on the sets of the dance reality show but is this really safe?

Every star couple on the show has either broken a bone, or hurt their back, or shed blood or got a few stitches during their dance rehearsals or the shoot of Nach Baliye 6 . But the alarming rate at which it is happening, is really beginning to worry us.

Asha Negi and Rithvik Dhanjani were the first to get injured during their live performance and Asha ended up getting a few stitches; but the couple got back on the dance floor almost immediately. Ripudaman Handa miscalculated a certain lift in their sequence and the masterchef injured his hand. Considering he is a chef by profession, that could have cost him his career! Luckily, the danger was averted in time. Raju Shrivastava’s wife Shikha had a ligament rupture during the dance, but the lovely lady supported her hubby by dancing in a wheel chair. Then Gurmeet Choudhary’s wife Debina Bonnerjee broke her rib during an aerial act which the actor ignored at first and then the situation took a turn for the worse. She now wears waist belts, but continues to perform dangerous stunts.

The latest contestant to join the bandwagon is Kanika Maheshwari, who apparently fractured her toe during rehearsals. She tweeted, “Fractured my left feet’s thumb while tryin a new trick on Christmas Evening for our nxt performance for #NachBaliye. I would still be performing on jst because of all the warmth & love I received from everyone.”

None of the contestants seem to be taking enough precautions ‘coz the injuries are just getting worse. What surprises us more is the fact that in spite of their injuries, they still continue to perform daredevil stunts risking their health. Tch… tch!

Kanika later tweeted, “Thank you everyone for all your concerns and messages for my speedy recovery. love you all.” Well we just wish the stars take a chill pill before the competition gets tougher and injuries become more fatal, no?
