Nagesh Kukunoor: I have never put myself in a box

The filmmaker’s new movie is about human trafficking and child abuse, a completely different project  from Mod, which was a love story staring Ayesha Takia and Rannvijay Singh

Nagesh Kukunoor is known for his off-beat style of movie making and doesn’t believe in having strategies or confining himself to one genre. “I have never stereotyped myself or put myself in a box,” said Nagesh, when asked whether it’s a choice to be different in every film.

Lakshmi is a story of a 14-year-old who fights the system and emerges victorious after being trafficked and forced into prostitution. The film deals with the issue of child trafficking and abuse which is largely prevalent in rural belts of India.

Lakshmi is presented by JayntilalGada of PEN Inda and produced by UV News Media & Communication Ltd and Kukunoor Movies Production. It Stars Satish Kaushik, Ram Kapoor, Shefali Shah and Nagesh Kukonoor himself.
