Oh My God song Mere nishan: Akshay Kumar plays Jim Carrey

Akshay Kumar becomes God in the latest feel-good song from his next film, OMG! Oh My God

Mere nishan, a song fresh out online from the Akshay Kumar-Paresh Rawal-starrer OMG! Oh My God is a light-hearted, feel-good track that shows Akshay in an entirely different yet totally palatable avatar.

The song, composed by Himesh Reshammiya and sung by Kailash Kher in his trademark earthy voice, shows Akshay sporting a halo and walking through Mumbai witnessing scenes of daily life as he helps folks out. He plays God in the movie and a naughty one that, since in one scene he actually does away with an idol’s slippers from a temple along with Paresh Rawal.

An interesting fact about this song is that the film’s crew was going around South Mumbai scouting locations when Akshay spotted a rather old but interesting looking building and requested that the song be shot with him standing at the edge of the terrace! The building folks refused, but after Akshay made them understand his reasons, the shoot was allowed.

There’s also a scene that resembles the one in Bruce Almighty where Jim Carrey, playing God, wipes out the clouds on a moonlit night. Akshay does something similar, but instead of wiping out the clouds out of the sky, he covers the moon, helping a tired Paresh Rawal catch some sleep!
