Dancing ace Prabhu Deva and Joker babe Sonakshi Sinha show great chemistry in the promotional song in the Askhay Kumar-Paresh Rawal-starrer
From the song title we get it that Go Govinda is a melody meant for Mumbai’s street dancers for the boisterous festivities of Janmashtami. And the opening tune – composed with flutes and drums – begins on the right note. You know that Prabhu Deva and Sonakshi Sinha have come together to have some masti and to show off some magical moves. The contingent of dancers and the red, blue and yellow colours in the background visually reinforce that it’s a fun song.
One is bound to compare the Oh My God promotional number to Prabhu Deva’s earlier dance duet with Madhuri Dixit-Nene from Pukar. Que Sera Sera is by far the finest and fanciest footwork we have watched on the big screen. So obviously Go Govinda… can’t come close to Que…, but Sonakshi manages to make us sit up and take notice with her groovy moves. With each passing film, she seems to be slowly unraveling her naughty and crazy side! But don’t expect the sensual steps that are usually associated with item gals.
Prabhu Deva continues to entertain us with his malleable moves, but we like that the Dabangg babe ably matches steps with the dancing ace. Sona’s head bobbing and robotic movements impress us.
After witnessing the recent run of the mill item songs, this one feels quite refreshingly different! Go watch it, and do tell us if you’d like to dance to the tunes of Go Govinda!
