Cashing in on the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, the film made close to Rs 8 crore on Tuesday
Things are only going to get better for OMG! Oh My God in the days to come, at least till Sridevi’s English Vinglish hits the screens this weekend! The film starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal had a slow start at the collection centers, but it steadily picked up over the last few days. After bagging Rs 16.60 crore in the opening weekend, OMG! Oh My God netted close to Rs 5 crore on Monday. And yesterday (Tuesday), being Gandhi Jayanti, a public holiday in India, the film enjoyed a good response at BO. It fetched Rs 7.50 crore on October 2 alone, thereby taking the domestic box office total for the movie to nearly Rs 30 crore.
It seems that Akki and Rawal’s comic timing is enough to pull audience into the theatres not just in India but in the overseas market too. The movie made a decent Rs 4.50 crore in the international market which brings its worldwide box office total to Rs 34 crore.
OMG! Oh My God has surprised one and all especially after a relatively quiet start. The trade pundits are expecting only an upward rise for the film in the coming days as it is doing well even in single screen theatres. We are confident that the Khiladi Kumar must be heaving a sigh of relief, especially after facing a traumatic response for Shirish Kunder’s alien-centric saga Joker that got him much flak from the media.
