The film is set in Spain, but the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara gang is driving through their own homeland, India, to make their point
It’s a promotional campaign to beat all. The cast and crew of Zoya Akhtar’s new film, releasing next week, is on their own trip, alright! In the film – or in as much of it as we have managed to get a peek of – the ‘boys’, Farhan Akhtar, Hrithik Roshan and Abhay Deol drive through Spain to discover not just the country, but themselves as well. And now, to spread the word about the film, make good on a pre-release promise made to the audiences and show off their own (filmi) characters to their fans at home, they, along with Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin, will drive from Mumbai to Delhi in four days. They left the city of Mumbai this morning at 8am, bright and early, and were headed to their first stop: Surat. They reached there a short while ago and Farhan told the world: “Just arrived in Surat to an overwhelming reception. In the hotel room with the gang now… looking out at the Tapi river. Calm and Serene”. The excitement is running high, it seems; read Farhan’s tweet at the start of the journey and you will feel it yourself: “Day 1. Mum-Surat leg… Here we go! Lenny kravitz playing… Cruising open stretches… Feeling alive!” Hrithik, who has never done a road trip before, is especially gung-ho, mostly about seeing rural India in the rainy season. Kalki will not be with the gang, unfortunately – no, this is not because of any kind of rivalry or bad blood between her and Katrina, as has been (mis)reported, but because the lady is not well. So no gossip for you there, friends!
