Most of the films which released in January 2014 failed to create hungama at the ticket windows. Abhay Deol’s first production venture which released last Friday has met the same fate
Abhay Deol and his real life girlfriend Preeti Desai teamed up for the first time for Devika Bhagat’s One By Two. The dimpled actor even turned producer for this romantic comedy but sadly the film has received a thanda response from the audience and critics alike. Even though Abhay starrer was a solo release last week, the film had a dull opening on its first day and the scenario pretty much remained the same over the weekend. Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted, “One By Two has slow start, will need miraculous jump in biz to put up decent numbers!”
According to boxofficeindia, “One By Two fared poorly at the box office as it collected a little over Rs 1.50 crore nett over the weekend. The collections were around 50 lakhs each on Friday and Saturday while there was a little jump on Sunday to Rs 55 lakh approx. The film is a disaster all over as some circuits hardly had any contributions.”
The way Abhay Deol’s first production venture has fared so far; we won’t be surprised if the film goes out of the theatres by the end of this week. As for the box office collection, the makers of One By Two should be happy if their film manages to recover its cost, if not anything else. But Abhay’s film has very little time as Parineeti Chopra and Sidharth Malhotra’s Hasee Toh Phasee is all set to hit the screens this week.
