Pakistani singers denied visas for performing in India at the ‘Cocktail’ music launch

The makers of the Saif Ali Khan-Deepika Padukone-Diana Penty starrer have now shifted the venue of the film’s music launch from Mumbai to London

So far, the response to the trailer and songs of Saif Ali Khan’s home production, Cocktail has been very good. A lot of credit for this positive buzz goes to the sizzling chemistry between Saif and his leading ladies, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty. Apparently the makers seem to be keen on cashing in on the acceptance and appreciation of the film’s music that marks the debut of four Pakistani singers – Imran Aziz Mia, Javed Bashir, Arif Lohar and Sahir Ali Bagga, who have sung Pritam’s compositions in Cocktail and, as a mark of admiration and thanks, a musical evening in India was meticulously planned. It was supposed to be a ‘jugalbandi’ between Indian and Pakistani singers, followed by the film’s official music launch.

Unfortunately for the makers of Cocktail, the Pakistani singers did not get visas to fly to India. As a result, the venue of the concert has now been moved to London, where singers from both countries can let their hair down and have a great jamming session. And we here in Mumbai will miss it…sigh!
