The Kaminey actor has had a sea change in his character between his last release and his upcoming one. We wonder how the film industry is reacting to it…
Shahid Kapoor has undergone a shocking yet fantastic change in his career. His last two films R…Rajkumar and Phata Poster Nikhhla Hero were purely for the single screen masses whereas his upcoming Vishal Bhardwaj film Haider is for the higher strata of the multiplex audience. The movies stand on two ends the cinematic spectrum. So what does the film industry think of this sea change in his persona?
Talking to a leading daily Queen director Vikas Bahl says, “It’s wonderful to see how he gets into the skin of the character and constantly surprises us. Wanting to see him play Haider now.” Filmmaker Karan Johar also retorts by saying, “The film looks engaging and power-packed with drama and intrigue. It also appears to be Shahid’s best celluloid work.”
Haider had just started gaining praises from fans and media for its promising first look when the trailer landed online and it surpassed everyone’s expectations. Shahid’s father has the most praiseworthy comment of all. He says, “Haider is real, touching and explosive. I have not seen Shakespeare’s Hamlet interpreted the way Vishal has in Haider. I am proud of Shahid’s performance in it.”
We are dying for October 2, when the movie releases. What about you, BollywoodLifers?
