The National Award winning lyricist, writer and advertising copywriting guru turns 42 today
Born on September 16, 1971, Prasoon Joshi has more than one reason to celebrate his birthday in a big way this year. He had written the script of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag which was a great success. It won appreciation from the critics as well as viewers.
He made his debut as film lyricist with Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lajja, followed by a string of successful Bollywood films like Hum Tum, Fanaa, Rang De Basanti, Taare Zameen Par, Black, Delhi 6, London Dreams, Break ke Baad, Teri Meri Kahaani and Satyagraha among others.
Prasoon has been felicitated with the National Award twice, in 2007 for Taare Zameen Par and in 2013 for Chittagong. He also won the Filmfare Best Lyricist award for Chand sifarish from Fanaa and Maa from Taare Zameen Par.
Many have approached Prasoon to pen down a script for them but he is in no hurry and says,” I only listen to my heart and love working with people like Prakash Jha “. His recent poem for the Uttarakhand tragedy “ Mera desh ro raha hai” narrated by Amitabh Bachchan reflects this heartfelt quality of his work.
We wish Prasoon a very happy birthday and luck for his upcoming endeavors.
