Pratyusha Banerjee: Salman Khan or Shah Rukh Khan, whoever hosts Bigg Boss 8 I will still watch!

The Balika Vadhu actor is back on small screen

Pratyusha Banerjee first came into the limelight when she played the role of Anandi in Balika Vadhu. She then went on to participate in India’s most controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 7. And now she’s all set to make a comeback of sorts to the small screen by playing the character of Ruhi in one of the upcoming episodes of Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya. We got in touch with this pretty lady, who spoke about her role, life after Bigg Boss and more. Here are excerpts from Pratyusha’s exclusive candid chat with BollywoodLife…

Why did you choose Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya?

First of all the show is directed by Vikas Gupta, who is is very good friend of mine. And secondly, he always gets amazing shows on television. So be it Gumrah or Yeh Hai Aashiqui, when I was offered this role in Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya, I immediately said yes. not only because of Vikas, but the character is something very interesting and I can relate to it.

Since you have been a really popular face on TV, do you think PTKK will benefit from your presence?

Yes, I have a certain fan following. And every actor has that. We all have been a part of this industry for quite sometime. So now what’s important is to do some good work.So we want to see how we can give benefit to any show and vice versa.

It’s been a long time since you called it quits from Balika Vadhu. But is the Anandi tag still on you?

Yes yes. God has been really sweet to me that after that character, I got Bigg Boss. So people also started knowing me as Pratyusha. Yes, Balika Vadhu was something that made me. So there are still many people who recognise me as Anandi. And I have no complaints whatsoever.

Talking about Bigg Boss, would you want to enter the house again if given a chance?

Well, actually I don’t mind. When I left that house, it was really horrifying for me. But now I think I will be able to deal with all the situations with more maturity and sense.

There has been a lot of talk about Shah Rukh Khan replacing Salman Khan as the next host of Bigg Boss 8. Would you like this replacement?

I stand nowhere to even think or give a suggestion or judgement on this. They both are Gods. So whoever is there, I would love to watch them. I was a part of the show when Salman sir was there and I loved him as the host. In fact, all of us did. But then being a big Shah Rukh Khan fan, I wouldn’t mind watching him either.

Have you been offered any Bollywood film?

There are some things in the loop. But I really can’t talk about it right now.

As you will already know that Surveen Chawla has made a drastic transition from the bubbly girl of small screen to Bollywood’s new sex symbol. She is indeed looking quite hot in the trailer of her debut film Hate Story 2 opposite Jay Bhanushali. Have you seen the trailers?

Of course I have. I think she is really looking hot. All the love and luck to both Jay and Surveen.

Would you be open to doing such bold roles on the silver screen?

Honestly, I won’t be that comfortable. Not in the beginning. Maybe when I am 3 or 4 films old, I might do it. You never know.

Now there are many TV actors including like Surveen, Jay, Gurmeet Choudhary and your Balika Vadhu co-star Siddharth Shukla, who are making their debut in Bollywood. Whom are you cheering for the most?

Without any doubt for Siddharth. I just can’t wait to watch him in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania!
