The Kal Ho Naa Ho actor has accused the business tycoon of molestation
Bollywood heroine Preity Zinta, who has accused her ex-boyfriend and industrialist Ness Wadia of abuse and molestation, returned to Mumbai on Sunday from the United States and police are likely to record her statement in the next two days.
The 39-year-old heroine, who had left India soon after filing an FIR against Wadia on June 12, arrived at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport on Sunday. Police said they are likely to record her statement in connection with the case either on Monday or Tuesday. “Since she has arrived here, her statement would be recorded either tomorrow or day after,” said an official privy to the investigation. Zinta filed a police complaint on June 12 alleging she was molested by Wadia, 44, at Wankhede stadium on May 30 when an IPL match was played between Kings XI Punjab and Chennai Super Kings, a charge the industrialist has denied as “false and baseless”.
The Mumbai police on Saturday recorded a statement by the BCCI secretary, Sanjay Patel, in connection with the case. Meanwhile, police are also probing the threatening calls received by a secretary of Ness’ father, Nusli Wadia, allegedly from fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari.
