The Barfi! babe launches Minimal Initial Service Package for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disasters in India
Priyanka Chopra is known for speaking her mind on various social issues. The 31-year-old actor supports many NGOs and lends her voice as a celebrity wherever she can, and we love PeeCee for that. For a recent campaign called Minimal Initial Service Package (MISP) for Sexual and Reproductive Health in Disasters in India, the Barfi! actor is seen talking about sexual violence and harassment against women during natural calamities.
“When the disasters strike, specific needs of girls and women are often overlooked. Girls may face dangers like trafficking and sexual violence or even rape in the absence of their families. Such events can be avoided with increased planning and preparedness. MISP consists of simple lifesaving intervention addressing the key issues of maternal and neo-natal health, gender based violence and young people’s needs during disasters. It will help India to be better prepared,” said Priyanka.
